Dasylirion
Dasylirion is a genus of North American plants in the asparagus family. Dasylirion wheeleri is the most common species, native to arid environments of northern Mexico, in Chihuahua and Sonora and in the southwestern United States, in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, and also in New Mexico and Texas. Unlike the agave plant, the sotol plant can be harvested without killing the plant, allowing it to regenerate for multiple harvests.
