Don Lorenzo Pechuga is produced by Armando Hernandez and Alvaro Hernandez at their Mal de Amor in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca. The maguey Espadin are traditionally cooked in a pit oven, milled by tahona, fermented with open air yeasts, and triple distilled in copper alembic stills. During the third distillation, wild boar meat is added to the still, along with pineapple, apple, banana, plantain, peach, tejocote, vanilla, guava, cinnamon, corn, and watermelon.
