About this mezcal
El Buho Arroqueño is the highest proof spirit released by El Buho. The Arroqueño is a rare maguey used by the Jimenez Mendez family to make mezcal. With a start of bold roasted agave flavor, this velvety mezcal has lots of texture, light fruit notes, and a long-lasting finish.
El Buho Mezcal
El Buho Mezcal was founded by Jose Isaac “Pepe” Jimenez Mendez, who comes from a long line of mezcal producers, and TJ Steele, a Brooklyn-based chef. TJ and Pepe launched their mezcal brand with a mission to deliver a high-quality mezcal at an affordable price in an iconic bottle. El Buho Mezcal is a small batch mezcal that is made in the heart of Oaxaca.

13 reviewsHad the pleasure of trying this mezcal at Claro, the owner’s restaurant in Brooklyn. Hints of banana on the nose and in the taste plus agave and sugar. Just a hint of smoke. One of the best I’ve had.

161 reviewsfantastic! the nose gives little indication of the palate because it is faint (almost none).small wiff of agave and sugar.the palate is best described as a dark red sweet apple.wonderful spices.mainly cinnamon and black pepper.great smoke and a deep sweet complexity.there is some fleeting heat up front but in a pleasant way.long and beautiful finish.makes your taste buds rave!one of the best i have had in a while!
