About this mezcal
Lejana y Sola Ensamble is made with maguey Esapadin and wild maguey Cuishe which is harvested from the communal lands of Lachilá, Oaxaca. The agaves are roasted over oak in a stone-lined fire pit oven, crushed by a horse drawn tahona, fermented in wooden tanks, and double distilled in a copper alambique still.
Lejana y Sola Mezcal
Lejana y Sola Mezcal is inspired by a line from a famous poem by Andalusian poet Federico Lorca called Il Canción del Jinete (The Horseman’s Song) about a lone horseman who rides toward Cordoba knowing that he will die before he reaches the city. Lejana y Sola is distilled in a small family owned palenque, located in the beautiful mountainous area of Lachilá, Oaxaca.
