About this mezcal

Nayaá Criollo is produced in Santa Teresa Pilcaya, Guerrero. All of the agave in this mezcal were grown and produced on the Nayaá Estate. This includes the planting and harvesting of the agave. The production process is a blend of traditional and modern techniques. The agaves are roasted in brick ovens for at least 48 hours and left to rest for 24 hours. The juice is then extracted using a tahona. Fermentation takes place in white oak tanks and distillation in traditional copper stills.

Nayaá Mezcal

Nayaá was established in 2014. The name Resiu Nayaa translates to Strong and Clear in Zapotec, the language of Guerrero, where the distillery is located.

Santa Teresa Pilcaya, Guerrero, a green valley between hills, was deliberately chosen for its optimal conditions, including its clay soil, abundant water, perfect temperature, and a thriving population of bats, which are agave’s natural pollinators.
