About this mezcal
Quiquiriqui Mezcal San Juan del Rio is produced on the riverbank at San Juan del Rio, Oaxaca by a fourth generation mezcalero. The mezcal is made in relatively small quantities with approximately 600 liters being bottled from each roast. Quiquiriqui San Juan del Rio has notes of citrus along with fresh green agave flavors and floral notes with the peppery bite. This mezcal is made traditionally using no industrial techniques. The mezcal is blended and adjusted after the second distillation using just the heads, hearts and tails.
Quiquiriqui Mezcal
Quiquiriqui Mezcal was established in 2011 and partners directly with families who have been producing traditional mezcal in their communities for generations. Their Mezcals are made to order in small batches using locally grown agave plants, harvested when mature, then cooked, fermented and distilled using traditional methods. The name “Qui-Qui-Ri-Qui” (pronounced Kee-Kee-Ree-Kee) comes from the sound a rooster makes.
