About this mezcal
Tileño Espadin is produced by maestro mezcalero Elias Jose Angeles Ojeda at his palenque in San Martin Tilcajete, Oaxaca. The cultivated agave used in this mezcal was grown around the palenque and in the hills in the surrounding community. The agaves are cooked in a pit oven, milled by tahona, fermented with naturally occurring yeasts in wooden vats, and double distilled in copper alembique stills.
Tileño Mezcal
Tileño mezcal was born in 2014 with the hope of celebrating the history and tradition of the Zapotec people. Tileño is the name of the people from the Zapotec community of San Martín Tilcajete. This is also the birthplace and home of maestro mezcalero José Ángeles Elias and his parents.
