Review #83: Nose has canteloupe, mango, cheesecake, graham cracker, coffee bean, old wood, milk chocolate. Palate show more coffee beans, mango, toasted nuts, rose, floral honey, milk chocolate, and earthy. Finish is a bit short but a decent stone minerality.
Yet another cupreata that I’m in love with. So savory with bursts of fruits. Lots of that chocolate, coffee, and nuttiness as the base notes with really pretty fruity and floral top notes. There’s something about that makes me think it’s like a really fancy dessert. The only thing that unfortunately holds this back is the length of the finish, it just falls a bit flat. That’s okay though, just keep drinking more and then you won’t even care to notice.

Review #83: nose has strawberry, cherry, peach, mango, cream, bubblegum, mint, herbs, and pine.
Palate is full of creamy fruits like peach, strawberry, cherry, bubblegum, and on the finish is pine, mint, licorice, and bitter herbs.I wouldn’t change a single thing about this. It’s unbelievably fruity. It makes your mouth water smelling it. The palate is such a burst of flavor. Even the smallest little sips are a flavor bomb, it is so rich. The herbal notes really take this to the next level though with their added complexity and lengthened finish. I will love to see more to come from this cooperative.

Review #82: nose has strawberry, grass, green grape, clean carpet, sour melon, and a bit of wet animal fur.
Palate is full of more sour strawberry, fresh grass, green grape, sour underripe melon, cinnamon, and the finish has a musty graininess.Very good stuff with just a touch of funk. Lovely mix of fruits on this and it is balanced with a fresh sweet grass. The funk is mild but serves as a nice carrier of the fruit notes. The palate has a unique finish which i really enjoyed too. Overall this is a very cool pour and solidifies my papalote love
Review #81: nose is full of fresh fruits, apple, cantaloupe, lemon, sweet sharpie, blueberry skins, ocean air, lemongrass, rosemary, and as it opens up i get wood and a chocolate dusting.
Palate is a bit delicate with more apple, mix of melons, sweet woodiness, lemongrass, basil and the finish has dry rosemary and a touch dark chocolate.I find this to be delicate and composed. Everything is working in harmony with a beautiful arrangement of fruits and mild base notes of bitterness from the herbs and chocolate. This is an easygoing no frills pour. I didn’t find anything necessarily stood out, but everything going on is well put together. It’s just a bit too delicate to really put this into super interesting territory for me, but delicious nonetheless.
Review #80: The nose has rubber, fresh hay, plastic ball pit, leather, just a weird funk, wildflowers, honeydew, watermelon jolly ranchers, sour gummy bears. On the palate i get plastic, candle wax, watermelon candy, gummy bears, fresh honeydew, lemongrass, juicy cucumber, and black pepper on the finish.
My, oh my. This is so weird. I side by sided with a couple other papalote and this really stood out. Very strong nose on this. A sweet old plastic aroma mixed in with an array of fruits really dominates your nose. That might not sound too good on paper, but i find it intoxicating just to smell. The nose may even be my favorite part of it. But the palate is no slouch either, with those same mouth watering fruits and a juiciness to all of it, like biting into a fresh watery cucumber. I’ve had a good amount of cupreata at this point and this one takes the cake for me. Side note, my partner was not a big fan in the side by side, so i can imagine some “off notes” being too much for people, but i found this delightful and strange.
Review #79: nose is very pungent with fruity yogurt, cheesy, green apple jolly rancher, strawberry, key lime pie, mango, vinegar and sharpie. The palate is all of the same, a whole bunch of sour fruits with a lactic funkiness, and with more vegetals as it opens up like roasted asparagus, spinach, and mild earthiness with a nice bright adicidy on the finish.
I just love this. I’m a fan of funky cheesy stuff and this definitely hits the spot. That funk mixed with the fruits is next level. It’s definitely like a sour yogurt mixed with fruits. Big and pungent all throughout, this is an inaequidens lovers bottle.
Review #78: The nose is full of watermelon, raspberry, sweet tarts, brine, salt, and chalk. The palate holds lots of minerals, more juicy watermelon, mossy, musty, oysters, earthy, lemon juice, moderate acidity.
I’m a fan of inaequidens and this is a fun showcase of it. It has those juicy fruits to it but the brine on this really adds some complexity. I was not expecting it to actually taste like oysters but it really does, it has that soft sweetness, salt, and mild fishiness to it that i find very fun. I agree with others that it is a bit on the soft side, but the delicate flavors have a lot of room to shine here without anything being too overwhelming
Review #77: Nose has pine, lime, smoked suasage, leather, soil, rosemary, jalapeno, wood, earthy, like working in a used car parts shop with the dirty tires, metals, oils, and someone smoking cigs in the background.
Palate has lots of lime, leather, pine, rosemary, sweet jalapeno, dirty smoke, and nearing the finish i get some dark chocolate, cinnamon, and dry wood.Wow, this is a savory one. The nose is pretty grungy, i get a lot of that dirty car shop vibe underneath everything. I don’t really get fruits from this like others, besides some acidic lime, but i do find a vegetal sweetness that comes from it. It has this drying effect from the cinnamon, wood, and leather.
Review #76: nose is metallic, grassy, moldy, rubber, foam mat, soft earthiness, and popcorn butter.
Palate is way different with some overripe watermelon and strawberry, green banana, caramel, touch of milk chocolate, earthy funk and a moderate amount of dry minerals on the finish. The nose on this is wild. So musty and dank smelling, like something got wet and was left to sit out. The palate diverges from this a lot, opening with plenty of fruits with just a mild backing of that funk. This is pretty fun stuff. I was not a huge fan of the nose at first, but it is so intriguing that i came around to it. This definitely seems like one of those where everyone picks out such different notes from all the weirdness.

review #75: On the nose there is lime, lemon oils, gasoline, fresh mint, black pepper, grassy, crisp vegetals like green onion, celery, and spinach. The palate has lime, lemon, gasoline, mint, black pepper, green onion, and also includes some light fruit notes like pear and apple. There is a moderate amount of smoke. On the finish is a bit of dark chocolate, wet soil, and clay like minerality.
A bottle kill review. This was one of my first bottles ever purchased. It was very brash on first opening with lots of black pepper, gasoline, and acidic lime. About a third of the way through it started mellowing out the harshness and opening up to more vegetal and crisp fruit notes. Nearing the end of the bottle the acidity and smoke softens a lot. This is good for the price but I did think this needed some solid airtime in the bottle for me to truly enjoy it.

Review #74: On the nose there are sweet fruits like peach, lime, red apples, and some florals. The palate has more peach, lime, red apples, strawberry, grape popsicle stick (super specific, but the actual stick itself was grape flavored. They used it for speech class as a kid), and on the finish there’s some lavender, rose, juniper, and other sweet and spicy florals.
There was more to this I wasn’t able to write down, but this is one of those “pretty” mezcals. This was exciting and complex. Really nice variety of ripe fruits with a nice complement of florals. No heat at all on this from the higher abv either. The alcohol was very well integrated with the bold flavors while having a nice soft mouthfeel.

Review #73: Nose has light cream, chlorine, grass, soft airy florals, and mint.
Palate is herbal, grass, lemongrass, sweet potato, orange oils, and then soapy lavender lasting on the finish. This one surprised me a bit. I did a side by side with pizcadores and santo cuviso bacanora with this and liked this one the most. It had the most unique notes among them all and i found the others boring compared to this. Although it’s 40% abv, it is very aromatic and the flavors have a decent presence with moderate complexity. It also gave me a bit of a sugarcane rum vibe. Definitely check this out if you can get a pour of it.

Review #72: Grapefruit, canteloupe, and herbs on the nose. The bright grapefruit also come to the palate with some sweet mint, vanilla, lime juice, lemon candies, and then herbs on the finish.
This is big and bright. The acidity is almost abrasive without much to balance it. It also feels a bit hot, possibly due to that acidity. Besides that though, I do like how punchy it’s flavors are. They don’t keep you looking too hard for them. The fruits are bright and the finish gives you just enough of something different.

Review #71: nose has milk chocolate and fresh paint. palate is more milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, vanilla, banana, a touch of butytic acid, and then cinnamon and earthy on the finish.
The nose on this was a bit of a let down, but the palate helped make up for it. There’s a softness to this that is really nice as it blends all the notes together harmoniously. On the other hand, it almost feels a bit too muted for me. Not too much going on here in my opinion but still easily enjoyable.

Review #70: nose has carmelized banana, earth, chocolate, leather, and barbecue chips. Palate is full of chocolate covered bananas, some mix of fresh green vegetals, and as the finish comes there’s clay, leather, and cinnamon with decent minerality.
I’m a sucker for chocolate with banana so this just hits the spot for me. It has some decent supporting flavors but those two notes dominate the nose and palate. There’s arguably not a ton of complexity on this, but I enjoy it enough that I don’t really care. It does what it does well and I love that about it.

Review #69: Lots of vanilla, sweet oak, strawberry candy, candied rose, cotton candy, and pear on the nose. On to the palate, there’s more sweet strawberry and rose candy, fresh pear, coconut, pine, and sweet mint with a bit of lavender on the finish.
Very clean tasting. It’s well composed and has lots of sweet, fruity, and floral notes dominating the aroma and palate. Perhaps it’s a bit too easygoing for me to rate higher personally, but it’s undeniably well done and has lots of delicious flavors going on. This is one of those you would gladly sip on with some friends on a beach or something.
I Didn’t get a batch number or abv.
Disclaimer: This was tried at a tasting as a half ounce sample, so these are short notes. I’ll update if I get to try this again.Review #54: strawberries and cream, banana, melon, fruit punch, pine, cucumber.
This is a juicy one. Good complexity overall with big bold fruit notes, a touch of cream, and a nice herbal/vegetal note underneath it. Id love a bottle of this stuff.

Review #68: nose has lots of fresh flowers with some wet stone minerality. Palate has vanilla icing and cake, sweet florals, white chocolates, sweet cream, sweet spearmint and lemon oils. On the finish, there is a bit of carmelized veggies, wet minerality, and ground pepper.
This is a very pretty and aromatic expression with delicate notes that are amped up by the proof while not being hot at all. There’s a very pleasant sweetness and minerality as the base notes. Nothing too crazy happening here but it’s very well done and extremely drinkable for anyone. I’ve not really been a big fan of this kind of agave, but this is among the best of them that I have tried.

Review #67: Nose has light fruits, like apples, that have been dusted in cinnamon. The palate has sweet licorice, more cinnamon covered apples, rosemary, fresh soil, root beer, burnt caramel, and leafy greens. finish has some pine and more herbs.
I’ll admit there’s more to this that I didn’t have the chance to pick apart. It kept on developing and before I knew it, my drink was gone, haha. The nose was hiding a bit for me, but the palate was bursting with flavor. Great mix of herbal flavors with just a touch of light sweetness to balance it. One of my favorite pours of one of my favorite agaves.

Review #66 Nose is full of bubblegum, watermelon, strawberry and airy florals. The palate has more bubblegum, watermelon, and strawberry, along with some banana, pine, and fresh wintergreen. The finish is rather long, with pops of jalapeno, bell pepper, and more lasting mint.
This kind of mix of fruit and vegetal notes are always some of my favorites. The strawberry and pine are a classic duo for me and they’re surrounded by these rich juicy fruits on the front of the palate as it fades to more prickly herbs and vegetables as the finish lingers. A very pretty smell from this as well. It’s just an awesome Tobala.
