A rare bottle, definitely go for it if you have the chance. Full of tropical flavours – coconut, banana, pineapple. Well distilled. Well balanced. One of the best
I like this! Thought it was a bit unremarkable when it was just espadin, but that touch of tobala really makes a difference. Good solid stuff
An excellent cocktail mezcal, but with the prices in the UK that’s going to be a very expensive cocktail. As a sipper it falls flat – probably the low abv.
Probably the bottle I drink the most of. Doesn’t blow you away with complexity, but super well structured, easy drinking, and keeps bringing you back for another glass. My number one everyday sipper.
Jolgorio is one of my favourite brands (along with Vago) and this, for my money, is their best bottle. Complex, rich, and very moreish. Love it
Another stunning liquid from Vago. Can’t get enough of the stuff.
Beautiful bottle but very disappointing liquid. Flat, watery, lifeless. Could work in cocktails but not at this price point
Good quality stuff if a bit unexciting. A well made matatlan espadin. Does what it says on the tin.
My desert island mezcal.
I first tried this in the UK in 2016 and I was blown away. Earth, smoke, chocolate milk. It perfectly balances complexity with softness, sweet with savoury, and just the right amount of smoke. This bottle really opened my eyes to the breadth of variation within mezcal, and made me a Sola De Vega obsessive.
