Missed the batch number. I had a bottle of this stuff. I bought 4 different bottles at the same time and this was the first one to be finished…and I don’t save the best for last. Haha.
Strong citrus and jalapeno (light smoke) elements to this mezcal. Very smooth and enjoyable, down the middle mezcal. Would be a nice way to introduce someone to mezcal.
Batch AOMA01. This is my favorite mezcal. Candy and heat on the nose. Insane mid palate half-second burst of grape soda, lavender tide pods…cannot fully describe it…haven’t tasted anything like it…. It is a very perfume-y mezcal but it doesn’t have a soapy characteristic at all…and the perfume fades into heat and minerality.

I bought this bottle maybe 5 years ago. Out of the gate it had a really intense banana diesel smell and hot on the nose and palate….really too hot and intense to enjoy. After letting this simmer down over a few years it still has the bananas on the nose and palate, some heat, light smoke, and heavy minerality on the aftertaste, which I enjoy. Leaves a slight grapefruit-esque taste/feel on the roof of the mouth which I don’t love. Between 3-3.5 stars.
