I took a break from Mezcal for a few months. And today I just had this amazing Tobala. I’m transported to a simpler life that tastes musky, sweet, cinnamonie, and seductive. Drinking in the traditional neat way. Lovely…
Smokie. Makes a good sipper. A little sweet for my taste. Nice pine after taste. Great price! Good to keep at home for friends to try. Easy to drink.
Lote: SAM007/18 espadín 90%, Bicuishe 10%
This is earthy, smokie, smooth. A distinct cinnamon stick. Then a bite of chili pepper. Love this. Great sipper!
This was so interesting. The heat stays on the gums and tongue. Followed by a sweet fruit taste. Tortilla chips and this mezcal make a perfect appetizer!
It is a different experience. I was not aware of the meat process prior to taste:) I don’t eat meat. I actually taste a gaminess in this. Not bad. After taste reminds me of the skin on barbecue chicken. I used to live that as a carnivore!
Enjoyed this as neat. Pine and citrus. Crisp and provocative on the taste buds. Small on smoke. A good medium price sipper. I added a slice of lime to increase the citrus quality.
I enjoyed this with agave syrup, but not a neat sipper. The alcohol taste over rides the delight of a smokie return. I do recommend this for a mixer. The taste does come through in a cocktail and makes you wonder if the smoke is an illusion or a campfire outside your door.
Not a big fan. Is a mixer mezcal. As a mixer the true mystery of mezcal is diluted. Perfect for the year of 2020. Disappointing, but it is what is. And we will appreciate what we have in the moment.
For the price, this is a tropical vacation in the mouth. Exotic fruits. Easy to sip by the beach. Not that smokie, but very refreshing.
