Nose: Complex and strong, some grain notes, reminds me of rum
Taste: Pretty hot on the first few sips, resting it for 15 minutes in the glass helped some, but still a little strong. It may benefit from resting in the bottle for a while. Felt a little one dimensional, more going on in the nose than in the taste.
Nose: Thick, fruity, complex
Taste: Nice sweetness, hint of mineral, faint hint of pineapple, medium finish. This has jumped to the front as a top tier favorite!
Nose: Rich, banana, overripe fruit, banana bread, cinnamon
Taste: Salty, juicy, hint of lumber and fruit. The ending has a slight bitter note like Campari. While tasty, I personally would have liked to have more fruit follow through on the taste.
Touches of salt each time which adds a nice taste to make you want to keep drinking. Flavor was mile and a shorter finish, a little on the thin side. It is an easy drinker which bumps it higher on my list to reach for.
Nose (at first opening): Grain, lumber, beef jerky, fruity, rich.
Taste: Slight mineral, smooth, and sweet; very drinkable. On the first taste it was like a roller coaster of evolving flavors. On second tasting it mellowed out a bit. I liked this better than the plain Cupreata which I found a little too sharp and up front to enjoy. This has become a new favorite of mine.
Nose: Creamy
Taste: Nice hint of smoke with some sweetness. You get a well rounded sip with a bit of sharpness in the middle. The finish is medium. Not a top tier, but a very firm, well rounded drinker. I look forward to seeing how it evolves as I try more.
My first taste of this was “wow!” The flavor is very unique compared to the other mezcals I’ve tried, even some sweet ones. The nose is sweet. The taste is also sweet, almost a bourbon maple syrup or caramelized sugar flavor. It’s very smooth, no bite. As I continued tasting I got a hint of a sort of green/dirt flavor as a back note. I tried this as part of Maguey Melate’s subscription club at an ABV of 50%.
