TOB-201 (2021)
46 down to 45% compared to previous years.
Nose : cheese and fruits
Mouth : sweet and salty notes, buttery and warm pastry
Finish : medium lenght
A solid and accessible batch overall. I’ve seen more complex but it’s a good Tobala.
Edition 23 Lot GMJES060219NS – Bottle 633 / 1300
One of my goto Espadin. Rarely you see an Espadin this complex.
Nose : fresh pine, rainforest, yeast
Mouth : very floral, hint of malt and light wood.
Finale : honey, smooth
Cupreata’s are rare and unique. Don’t get scared by the goat cheese and herbal nose. First sip you’ll get very strong citrus zest : lime, lemon, orange. Finish is peppery. Call me crazy but I like to use this one in cocktails because of the high abv and strong citrus notes that can get through the other ingredients. A nice one to have.
Year of distillation 2018.
Lot 01CA-19.
Mezcalero : Margarito Cortés.
45,27 % Alc Vol.Best mezcal I’ve tried. Amazing earthy notes on the nose. Fruity, mainly fresh tropical fruits, on the palate. Super long and strong finish. Perfectly balanced. It does’nt get any better than this.
Batch : 047RP/17
Bottle : 042/360I would recommend this as an entry mezcal for rum aficionado. Not very complex as the flavor is almost entirely on the sweet side, with butter, salted caramel, cookie dough and creme brule. Super smooth finish given by the oak barrel. Overall a solid mezcal that is probably an excellent mixer too.
