My first mezcal experience was at Ounce (a speakeasy) in Taipei during the summer of 2016. The row of green Del Maguey bottles on the shelf immediately caught my eye; the bartender explained mezcal to me (a category I had never even heard of at the time) and was kind enough to let me try Chichicapa, Minero, and one or two others. To say that I was blown away would be an understatement!
