This is one of my favorite brands because you just know that you’re in for something interesting when you open a bottle.
The initial notes are sweet and floral, then gradually disperses into a vegetal taste that ends on a slightly bitter note. A true tepeztate that is smooth from start to finish.

Tepeztate is my favorite varietal, but for some reason, I really can’t bring myself to like this one. It’s definitely one of the more affordable tepeztate bottles out there, but it certainly doesn’t do the agave any justice. It’s heavy on the palate with a bitter aftertaste that just hits you like a ton of bricks. I keep trying to find the delicate, floral notes of tepeztate that I enjoy, but it is non existent in this one.

The nose is good, and the first sip was alright – sweet and floral with some smoke. But as you take more sips, the finish starts to get pretty harsh. Sort of tarry and bitter. I would not recommend it as a sipping mezcal.
