Strangely different. Somewhat muted nose of wet dirt and pine. Taste is heavy on the mulch… or at least tastes like mulch smells. No burn on finish… extremely different/interesting mezcal
For an espadin, this is fantastic. Smooth, earthy, ever so light bite. Almost creamy. Solid price ($80), wish this was readily available in Texas.
Agree with the other review. Tastes like a muted tequila. Not much of a sotol in my opinion. Average
Definitely taste the espadin base. If it were $30 less a bottle, it might be my go to mezcal. Enjoyable
Not really mezcal based on its production method, but extremely different and interesting. Strange flavors of bubblegum up front, followed by cotton candy and a non existent finish. 3.5/5
A little nail polish/varnish on nose. Def. an herbal, chartreuse-like mid palate with a sweet, burning finish. Solid, but glad I bought the 8 oz bottle instead of a 750ml
A little hot but other than that, its breathtaking. Up there with the best Teps ive had. Wish we had this in Texas
Funky for an espadin. Smell is on point, but hated the finish. Mediocre, strange
Absolutely cannot believe this is 54%. The other reviews are correct, this is fantastic. Supplants Barril/Cuishe ensamble as the best ensamble from RM. Palate is smooth and earthy, but the finish is the star of the show here. A myriad of skittles flavor along with some citrus and funk to round it out.
A top 5 mezcal for me
Shockingly good. Outstanding for the price, even
Sweet, very little smoke. Smells like a nice blanco tequila. No long finish, no burn. Balanced, extremely enjoyable
Interesting to have blue agave made in the traditional mezcal style
4.5/5 really. Earthy, garden fresh nose. Palate is full of produce section veggies, minerality, and oil. Finish is long with a decent alcohol burn. A little too “veggie” for my tastes, but still a well-crafted mezcal
Lotta veggies. Bell peppers, tomatillo, and slight jalapeno. Not much smoke. Solid espadin, great for the price. Finish is short and without any burn. Pleasant
Whoah nelly! Balanced, tip toeing the line between sharp and sweet. Slight citrus, tons of earthiness… wonderful
Cream and flowers. This mezcal would be in my top 5 of all time of it werent for a strange, mid-palate taste i cant put my finger on. More of a 4.5/5
No burn or bite. Incredibly smooth. The addition of the Cuishe (30%) takes this Espadin heavy mezcal to a deeper, sweeter level. Wisps of smoke throughout and a finish that lingers almost the perfect amount. Wish this was available in Texas… this would be a fantastic everyday sipper.
EDIT: after sitting for a while, there is a strange hardcore mint flavor that comes through that i dont care for. Overall, still good, but def. a little different
Arroqueno, Coyote, Texpetate. 51.5% abv
Whoah. Only knock is on the slight bite from the higher abv. Otherwise… stellar
