Nose of fusels and wet stone. Sweet grass, clay, and a short finish. Excellent for the abv 4.5/5
May be the best mezcal ive ever had… good lord this is perfect. A desert island mezcal. Wish I had bought another bottle. There is no heat, no burn, and the finish is nuanced and complex while it disappears over a few min with every sip.
Wow
Rey Campero and El Jolgorio… those are the only two Jabali’s ive had that have blown me away. Very even keeled and rounded out… everything seems in balance, apple, smoke, and candy corn. Yummy
4.75/5 really. Not complex enough to warrant five stars. However, finish is the smoothest ive ever has from any mezcal, ever. I get a lot of sweetness and flowers up front, but not too much happens after that. Its a fantastic mezcal, but still not sure its worthy of the hype
Fruitiest agave spirit ive ever had. Apple and pear on the nose, and kiwi and stone fruit on the palate. Almost no smoke. No burn for 63%. Excellent, a crazy awesome raicilla.
From the Nasa Liquors special bottle from their store-pick batch
Not for me at all. Smell is freaking awful… burnt jalapeno and green bean. Taste is the same. Id be furious if I bought a whole bottle. Gonna be tough to finish the one ounce pour i have now
Almost a 1 star. Smoke and thats about it. Smell, palate and finish all a mess. Rough, drinks like its 60% abv
Pass
Would have liked to have given this 3.75/5. Didnt care for the finish. Smell was also a little light for me.
Solid but not worth the price. Would rather go with the Marca Negra
One of my favorite espadins. Has all the classic notes, and a clean sharp smell that doesnt overpower you. Slight oil on the finish, fantastic, especially for the price/availability
Different. A bubble gum mezcal, if you will. Not much smoke, but some fruit and some definite cheese/funk. Still not sure what score to give this. Everytime i sip, i get something different. Solid at the very least
Reminds me of del maguey vida, with a little more smoke. Pretty well balanced, almost no bite on the back end. Could down a bottle of this like water
3.5/5
So light. No burn.
Only knock and only thing keeping this from being one of the all time best is the very light, almost non-discernable additions on the palate. Can barely tell it’s a pechuga. As an espadin, it soars. As a pechuga, mixed feelings at best
Not for me. Funky, insane herbs and veggies, and a strange aroma i cant place
3.75/5 really
Nose is wet grass and clay. Mouthfeel is soft and peppery. Palate and finish are slightly funky, in the best way.
Better than i thought it would be. Dunno the price point, but if its less than $50 a bottle, id buy again and again
Solid espadin
Very little smoke on the nose. Some pickle juice/brine on the palate. More smoke on the finish than the nose. Heavy alcohol burn that makes me think that this should be closer to 120 proof.
