Pour. A good pulquero but nothing really remarkable. 3.75/5, rounded up
Not sure if I should be rating this one… as I had it in a flight of mezcales at Madre. Either way, the one thing I can say this reminds me of is one of Erick’s sourced mezcales from Almamezcalera. Straddled the line pretty well between light and heavy. Mint, juicy fruit, slight aloe. Good!
Blinded, I never would have guessed this is an espadin. More tobla-ish notes of bubblegum and mango. Interesting….
An above average Cuishe. Enjoyable but not earth shattering. On the fence about buying a bottle
3.75/5 really. A solid sotol. Fresh cut grass, horse barn, and peppercorns on the nose. Taste is peppercorns and slate. Finish is more slate, apples, and laffy taffy.
Really solid. Opens with coconut curry-like stuff and then hits you with dried fruit and mint. Yummy
Opens with veggie garden. Finishes with flower garden. Not what I was expecting from a tobala. Its well made, but not sure if I would commit to a bottle right now. 3.75/5
Slightly slightly effervescent, slightly mineral, sage and berries…. Raspberries and cream? A lot of different notes for a single varietal. Awesome
Too much bloody mary veggies for me. Celery, tomatillos, bell peppers, cilantro even. Not my jam, maybe
Enjoyable but not challeging enough, if that makes sense. Tart sour patch kids and KC Masterpiece bbq sauce. Just didnt grab me like I thought it would
4.75/5. Texas Mezcal and Tequila Society exclusive. This is one of the best 5S ive had. Grapefruit, aloe, leather. Badass
Pour from Comedor, Austin. Nose is juicy fruit gum. Palate is more of the same, staying between the lanes of bitter and sweet. Finish is short but more of the same. Enjoyable, but didnt wow me.
This is not your standard Espadin. Lilac and sweet corn. Oyster mushrooms in there too? Crazy, in a good way. Really wanna try again
Fruity pebbles maybe? Turbinado and a faint hint of fruit cocktail. Fruit…. Fruit fruit fruit fruit.
Solid. Almost reminds me of the stuff Edgar is doing over at Real Minero. Flavored sparkling water, apple juice, hemp. Complex and keeps you guessing. I like it
I feel like the Espadin in this is a great addition. Def makes it more approachable to me. Moar from Cortes’ family plz
Really fun Mexicano. Not too heavy, not too light. Red grapes, apple cider, basil. Its like a party in my mouth, and everyones invited.
